The 3rd Economic and the 1st Medical Forum
in Velden (Austria)

Last week from 16th to 19th September the 3rd Economic and the 1st Medical Forum took place in the well known Carinthian town Velden am Woerthersee. High ranking political, economic and medical representatives from Southeast European countries were present at this conference.
Also the members of the Alps-Adriatic Centre for Cross- border Co-operation (AACC) participated.
The important delegations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cantons Sarajevo and Posavina, which have close connections with the Centre in Klagenfurt, established contacts with Austrian economic represen-tatives and the Carinthian Country counsellor for Health, dr.Peter Kaiser. They discussed about the possibilities for future cooperation.
Dr.Peter Kaiser about the above mentioned possibilities: ”It is essential to exchange stand-points and to support each other on the way to united Europe”. He also confirmed to the delegations Austrian support at the exchange of know-how and the development of medical sphere in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The high ranking delegations were invited by AACC (as the partner of the Forum in Velden) and also accompanied by AACC at this important international meeting.

At the occasion of unofficial discussions with the members of the Consensus group in the beginning of September in Velden the former Austrian Kanzler dr. Wolfgang Schüssel met the AACC representatives Bernard Sadovnik and Štefan Lesjak, who informed him about the activities of the Centre.

The opening ceremony of this year already 46th International fair for agriculture and food industry was held on Saturday, August 23rd, 2008 in the presence of numerous honorary guests. The fair was opened by the Slovenian president dr. Danilo Türk. More than 1600 exhibitors will exhibit till Friday, August 29th agricultural machines, cowshed equipment, food products, wines, beverages, equipment for catering and food-processing industry, seeds, products for animal nutrition and cultivating, craft items and numerous other products. Present are also different institutions, schools, Ministry for agriculture, forestry and food; Agricultural and forestry chamber of Slovenia. This year the guest countries at the fair are Hungary and Croatia. The traditional exhibition will be rounded by numerous expert meetings and lectures.
A short meeting with discussion between the Slovenian president dr. Danilo Türk and the Secretary-General of the AACC mag. Filip Warasch took place after the fair opening ceremony.
The exhibition is open from 9.00 to 19.00 and will be closed on Friday, August 29th ... more
