In the spring (otherwise the 50th ) edition of Briški časnik (the magazine of the Brda community) the article with the title “Brda spa-contracts for the purchase of building sites are signed” was published. Since Alps-Adriatic Centre for Cross-border Co-operation (AACC) is the partner who established the contact between the Brda community and the Austrian company PORR and is still now actively involved in this project, we decided to include the above mentioned article (together with the photo) in shortened form on our web site, too.

The Austrian company PORR which plans to build a hotel-medical complex in Brda, has recently signed the purchasing contracts with the owners of sites. In near future Brda community is planning to found a joint venture Terme Brda with the PORR company. Terme will lead this important project. Brda community has already announced that the thermal well is not the condition for the building of this thermal complex. Last year namely Brda signed the contract with the Austrian community Bleiberg for the supply of thermal water. Bleiberg should provide the water for the 150 km distant Brda complex. The value of this hotel-medical complex which will be located on 4 hectares along the old road Medana-Fojana, is estimated on 40 million Euro. The Austrian company will buy the sites,which are basicly agricultural, at prices valid for building sites.

From March 9th to March 13th in Klagenfurt (Austria) GAST – the international trade fair for the hotel and catering trade was held. At this jubilee fair more than 500 exhibitors from various European countries were participating, they exhibited equipment, machines, food products, beverages, advertising and marketing, catering systems...
